Proposed Hybrid Control Method for Digital PWM
This invention proposes a new DPWM control method. This method combines the ideas of constant frequency and constant on-time control. On the one hand, this method can achieve the same duty cycle resolution of constant on-time control, which is much higher than constant frequency control; on the other hand, it keeps the switching frequency nearly constant. This invented method could greatly reduce the requirement for time slot in DPWM block, which could lower the cost and design difficulties.
