Optimal Trajectory Control of LLC Resonant Converter for LED PWM Dimming
In this invention, a novel PWM dimming solution for the LED lighting is proposed. With the PWM dimming control, the LED intensity is controlled by the ratio between the on-time and off-time of the PWM dimming signal. When the PWM dimming is on, the LLC resonant converter operates under the full load condition. To eliminate the dynamic oscillation when the LLC resonant converter starts to work from the idle status, the pulse pattern of gate driving signal is optimized based on the state-trajectory analysis. With the help of the optimal trajctory control, the full-load steady state is settled within the minimal time, and under low dimming condition, the LED intensity can be controlled more precisely.
