Three-Level Active Neutral-Point-Clamped Zero-Voltage Switching Converter Using Coupled Magnetic Circuit
This invention discloses a new soft-switching topology which can reduce the switching losses of power semiconductor devices in a three-level power converter. Thus the efficiency of the converter could be increased or the switching frequency of the converter could be higher. High efficiency is an important requirement for power conversion system; and the higher switching frequency benefits the system with smaller passive components and higher control bandwidth. So this invention is promising in many high-power applications where the current topologies have very low switching frequency due to the huge switching losses on the semiconductor devices.
