Improved Solvents for Ionic Polymer Transducer
Case ID:
03.072
Web Published:
9/20/2012
The invention described herein consists of an improvement to the current state of ionic polymer membrane transduction technology. This improvement will allow for these transducers to be used in more varied environments, including space. The invention effectively solves the classical problem of dehydration of these devices, which has prevented them from being considered useful in anything except for aqueous environments until now. Besides expanding the range of possible environments that these devices can operate in, this invention also allows for better performance from these devices because higher input energies can be applied to the ionic polymer devices.
