Dynamic Spectrum Access and TRANSEC Through A Repeater and Frequency Translator
Case ID:
14-056
Web Published:
11/14/2013
The invention provides a repeater system for testing communications links (using existing equipment) on new frequencies and for implementing frequency agility for Long Term Evolution (LTE) and adding an additional layer of TRANSEC. A repeater is placed on each end of the communications link to translate the signals from the original frequency to the desired new frequency. A novel baseband processing system allows for filtering, control, and modification of signal characterstics to facilitate frequency sharing algorithms and transmission security. LTE, LTE-Advanced and other modern transmission modes are supported. A RFIC based approach is employed to implement the system. A particular use of this system is to test compatibility of LTE signals with other existing systems such as radar.
