Optical Sensor for On-line, Real-time Analysis of Chemical Gases Dissolved in Transformer Oil

Description:

Because the invented sensors are immune to electromagnetic interference and can also resist the huge electric stress inside high voltage transformers, they can be installed much closer to the fault sources than current other systems do, which makes the analysis more accurate and prompt.  Since the new sensors are very compact and multiplexible, multiple sensors can be installed at different locations in a transformer to get localized information which is a great help to diagnose the fault source and properties.  The disclosure describes the system schematic, sensor structure, sensor fabrication method, calibration method and data analysis method and it also provides the measurement resolution and accuracy information.
