Adipose Derived Stem Cell Therapy for Animals

Adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) are easily isolated and grow rapidly, allowing treatment within 10 days. A same-day adipose cell therapy involves tissue digestion and collection of the cell mixture-the stromal vascular fraction (SVF). Platelet rich plasma (PRP) has been used as a vehicle for stem cell therapy, providing growth factors and scaffold for the ASCs to promote healing. Our preliminary data suggest that ASC/PRP therapy promotes tendon healing in dogs, which was not the case for PRP alone or SVF alone.
