Increased Efficiency and Oxygen Resistance of Ru,Rh,Ru Water Reduction Photocatalysts with the Addition of Polyelectrolytes
A robust photocatalytic system has been developed through the incorporation of polyelectrolytes into photolysis solutions. Polyelectrolytes have a profound impact on the efficiency of water reduction photocatalysts, increasing hydrogen production substantially compared to aqueous solutions alone. The use of low cost, abundant polyelectrolytes is a promising new method to increase the stability and efficiency of water reduction catalysts in air-saturated aqueous solutions.
