A Method for Multi-Material Additive Manufacturing and Its Use on Producing Multimaterials with Complex Architectures

Description:

This invention discloses an advanced, additional system and a method to provide multi-feed material for free-form fabrication of 3D objects build by a stereolithography-based (SL) 3D printer. Especially, this system and method can facilitate low-volume printing and high-speed resin change in a SL 3D printer. The final printed multi-material object can be used in the fields of tissue engineering, metamaterials with unique mechanical properties or tailored deformation, and multifunctional materials with monolithic fabrication of structures with integrated functionality.
