This novel AM machine utilizes multiple additive manufacturing technologies in a single system in order to make multi-material parts in individual layers of a single print. It is also useful to rapidly explore different materials and material combinations across different additive technologies. It is capable of 3D printing metals, ceramics, polymers, and organics. Example applications include integrated circuits and functionally graded materials. This machine will increase the capabilities of major AM users including companies involved in aerospace, automotive, consumer goods, and research labs.
