Power (Adjustment) Control Method for Induction Apparatus

The invention is a power control method for a power converter that ensures high-side switching devices operating under zero-voltage turn-on condition while low-side switching devices operating under zero-voltage turn-on and zero-voltage turn-off condition. It achieves very high efficiency operation for a wide load range without having to shift the phase between two switching legs. The role of high- and low-side switches can be exchanged such that the two low-side switches may turn on with a shorter period, while the two high-side switches turn on with a longer period. In either case, the overlap period between one leg’s low-side switch and the other leg’s high-side switch determines the output power.
